IUBH Extracurricular Programme – extra insights & extra opportunities
It is always great to welcome alumni back on campus and it is equally great when alumni invite current students to visit them on the job. The extracurricular programme offers the perfect framework for just these kinds of activities.
The programme is an optional part of the study experience at IUBH School of Business and Management in Bad Honnef and offers first-semester bachelor’s students a variety of events on and off campus, with industry guest speakers, workshops and company field trips. Students gain first-hand insights into various businesses and get in touch with potential partners for their internship or thesis while IUBH expands its partner network.
The first two events of this summer semester already took place last week. Guest speaker and IUBH graduate 2014 Aslam Khadaroo shared his experiences of working for Lufthansa Consulting to a group of 20 students on campus, and explained the different types of projects the company is working on. The first field trip led students to Kumpan Electric, e-bility GmbH in Remagen. Founded in 2010 by three brothers the company is taking a leading position in the field of eco-friendly scooters. The students gained insights into the different departments and learned about product development, opportunities and challenges.
About half of the extracurricular events this semester involve IUBH Alumni. For the other half IUBH relies on its continuously growing partner network. Highlights of the current programme include excursions to Airport Hahn, a night tour of the UPS facilities at Cologne Bonn Airport and ABB, a pioneering technology leader, as well as an Allianz workshop on Risk Management and guest lectures on Gamification and Logistics.
