Cooperations Aviation Management

Our partnerships, your benefit

Through cooperation with Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Airport Cologne/Bonn GmbH and Airport Frankfurt-Hahn, the IUBH School of Business and Management offers very attractive practical programmes.

st.i.p. Aviation – study and intensive practice

In cooperation with Deutsche Lufthansa AG we have successfully implemented the Study and Intensive Practice Aviation programme, known as st.i.p., since August 2004.  Selected IUBH students can participate in this ‘study plus practice’ programme and thereby gain extensive insights into various operational areas of Deutsche Lufthansa AG during their studies.

During semester break participants do a total of 36 weeks of practical training in areas such as freight or check-in, as well as in management departments of the Lufthansa Group.  Preparatory and accompanying training, lectures, and on-site tours are an integral part of the programme.  In consultation with the supervising department, it is also possible to write a bachelor thesis in cooperation with the Lufthansa Group.

Lufthansa covers the costs of training and the travel costs to the work place and to lectures.  During their internship st.i.p students are paid €650- €750 for each full month of employment, and where applicable, on a pro rata temporis basis.

Only IUBH students are qualified to participate in this cooperation programme.

Practical training at Airport Frankfurt-Hahn

From its start as a civil airport in 1993, Airport Frankfurt Hahn has become one of the fastest growing airports in Germany. The former military base has not only evolved into a major commercial airport but has also become an important business location.

We offer practical training in cooperation with the IUBH School of Business and Management. This is a chance to combine the academic side of your studies with practical experience at an international airport. Meet our team and see how the operative and administrative areas of an airport really work. You will rotate through several departments and get to know the specific tasks and activities of each.
