How to finance your studies
Information on scholarships and student loans - for EU-students only
The study programmes at the private, state accredited IUBH School of Business and Management offer excellent prospects for your personal business career. Our university's aim is to give all prospective students the opportunity to study at our university - regardless of their economic situation.
This is why we offer a range of financial assistance opportunities. If you’d like to know more, please contact our study advisors. They’ll be happy to answer your questions.
IUBH students can apply for financial assistance for their studies (special conditions) from Deutsche Bank Bad Godesberg, Dresdner Bank Bad Honnef and Stadtsparkasse Bad Honnef.
The PDF document gives detailed information on several ways to finance your studies:
Being a state-recognised university, IUBH students are eligible to apply for a partly repayable student BAföG grant (German law for educational support). BAföG can provide additional support for the coverage of living costs.
International students can apply for a BAföG student grant only under certain conditions. As a general rule, prerequisites are an intention to stay in Germany and social integration. Generally, Non-EU students are often not eligible as the law is very restrictive. International students need to fulfill these criteria in order to be eligible for BAFöG:
- One of your parents has German citizenship
- You have or have had a German spouse
- You are a legitimate asylum seeker, stateless or a refugee
- One of your parents was legally employed in Germany for three years within six years before the beginning of studies, or
- He/she was legally employed in Germany for five years before the beginning of studies
