International Hospitality Management

Thor Halvorsen
I left Norway in March 2011 leaving behind lots of snow and below zero degrees. I arrived in sunshine and was met by a fellow student at the train station. I realized I did not need my winter coat.

I study International Hospitality Management. This is a double-Bachelor degree program with a 7 semesters duration.  The courses are taught in English. It is expected to spend one internship semester outside Germany, as well as two study semesters also abroad.
I find the study concept of the University very appealing. The courses are conducted in small study groups, and it is easy to communicate to the lecturers and students.

The fact that the study program is conducted in English was a major reason for choosing the IUBH because I felt more comfortable with English than with German at the time of admission. I find, however, that I automatically acquire a second foreign language for free while living in Germany.

I find living in a University apartment comfortably, it is furnished, easy campus life.
The University is located in one of Germanys most beautiful regions close to Bonn, Cologne and Dusseldorf. The city is also near by the Netherlands, Belgium and France. Bad Honnef is a small historic town with lots of places to enjoy a pretzel and a cold beer with friends.

I have made friends with students from all over the world.  I am very confident with my choice of university and will not hesitate to recommend the IUBH to other aspiring students.
