Taking into account students’ hospitality education before enrolling at the university, IUBH offers a special Fast Track programme in Hospitality Management. This track of our Bachelor’s program allows students depending on their previous qualification in hospitality management to follow a shortened version of the Bachelor’s programme in two years, enhancing their personal skills as well as their management qualification.

The following qualified apprenticeships are generally accepted:

• Hotelkauffrau/-mann
• Hotelfachfrau/-mann
• Restaurantfachfrau/-mann
• Köchin/Koch
• Fachfrau/-mann für Systemgastronomie
• Fachfrau/-mann im Gastgewerbe
• Höhere Lehranstalt für Tourismus

Admission Requirements:

• Hochschulzugangsberechtigung (HZB) for German universities
• Qualified apprenticeship with an average grade of min. 2.5 or a B
• English sufficiency: TOEFL test - Minimum score 80 internet based and 550 paper based or IELTS test - Minimum score 6.0

Preparation Phase
In a first six-weeks preparation phase students are made familiar with some necessary skills which are necessary to successfully complete the program.
During this course students will develop their quantitative skills. Besides that we will teach you to work according to academic standards. Moreover we will make you familiar with the economic and structural environment of the hospitality industry.
IUBH expects you to work intensively during this stage. A six-days-working week will be required to pass the preparation phase successfully.

Course Work
In the following two years you will study in cohorts mixed with students from the regular IUBH program. During this time you will learn about management instruments and their application as well as foreign languages. Moreover you will improve your communication and presentation skills.  This will help you to start your career in management positions in the hotel industry and beyond.
Distance Learning components during the spring and summer break will add value to your personal curriculum.

Bachelor Thesis
At the end of your studies you will write a bachelor thesis, preferably in cooperation with the industry, offering you the opportunity to get acquainted with your potentially next employer.

Graduates of the IUBH Hospitality Management programme will find excellent career opportunities in the international hospitality industry. Former students if IUBH built their career in locations all over the world in the hospitality industry as well as in consultancy, banking, catering and other parts of the service sector.
