On the 7th of April a group of Hospitality Management students from IUBH Campus Studies Bad Honnef visited two landmark hotels in Frankfurt. Organised by students Hubertus Kempen, Janina Duch and Jakob Rametsteiner the group was able to see the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof as well as the Villa Kennedy and additionally enjoyed some sunny hours at the Main river.
IUBH alumnus Tobias Schweizer, currently Rooms Division Management Trainee at the Frankfurter Hof, gave them a great inside into the flagship hotel of Deutsche Hospitality. Its many different room categories as well as the vast meeting spaces were part of the tour. Tobias Schweizer spent a lot of time showing the group around the 303-room hotel and additionally answered many of the students’ questions, regarding Deutsche Hospitality cooperation itself, possible internships as well as management traineeships after their studies.
The 163-room luxury hotel Villa Kennedy of the Rocco Forte hotel group offered the students a different perspective on the luxury hotel sector. F&B manager Marcel Gimbel gave them a detailed insight into the restaurant and kitchen side of the hotel operation. The “Georg Speyer Suite”, the presidential suite of the Villa Kennedy - with 326m2 one of Germany’s biggest hotel suites - was one of the most impressive features of this hotel.
