On campus, successful entrepreneurs present their companies and visions and together with workshop participants develop ideas and solutions to current issues related to starting a company. “The goal is to show young people new possibilities and familiarise them with the start-up sector. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet terrific people and maybe even find an internship or a job,” says Till Hoddick, an IUBH student and co-organiser of last year’s and this year’s event.
With a changing line-up of coordinators, IUBH Campus Study students have been organising this successful event on their own since 2016. Last year almost 300 people attended workshops and the associated Network Fair. This year, the organisational team once again wants to lure big names in the start-up scene to Bad Honnef.
“Gronda (a career platform for gastronomy) and Roomovo (furniture rentals) are among the most famous start-ups that will be coming to campus to offer workshops and/or set up booths at the Network Fair”, Till continues. In total, over 15 different companies and individuals will be represented at the Network Fair, a small campus exhibition. Visitors can also look forward to an open-air top-level panel discussion, free of charge. Discussion points of focus include ‘mind-set entrepreneur’ and many other current topics.
The young team also wants to offer the guests food. There will be a coffee and waffle booth, as well as a barbecue. In the evening at the Founders Dinner, guests can get together again for a Flying Buffet, live-music and cocktails at the on-campus “anno” restaurant.
Founders Day will take place on Tuesday June 19th 2018 at the IUBH campus in Bad Honnef (Muelheimer Straße 38, 53604 Bad Honnef). Visitors are welcome to the Network Fair, free of charge, starting at 9 am. There is a 15€ flat rate charge to attend workshops, and 25€ for the Founders Dinner.
